Fitz Harper, MD

Dr. Fitz N. Harper Jr. received his medical degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania in 1989. He completed his residency in Anesthesiology at Thomas Jefferson University, where he was chief resident and awarded the Robert L. Dripps Awards for the most outstanding resident. He served as Assistant Professor at Emory University Department of Anesthesiology for seven years and Department Chief at Grady Memorial Hospital for two years before entering private practice in anesthesia and interventional pain 15 years ago.

Dr. Harper treats headaches utilizing a minimally invasive nerve block technique. His interests are in chronic pain, including cervical, lumbar, and thoracic facet treatment, radiofrequency rhizotomy, and spinal cord stimulation/neuromodulation. Dr. Harper performs major joint injections (knees, hips, and shoulders) and sacroiliac joint treatments, utilizing both Ultrasound and Fluoroscopic imaging techniques. He is licensed to treat patients with opioid dependency issues using buprenorphine and offers non-interventional treatment options including medical management with opioids, when indicated. In addition to the use of steroids and other medications to treat the above conditions. Dr. Harper also utilizes regenerative medicine principles to also treat conditions such as Osteoarthritis, Degenerative Disc Disease, Joint Injuries and pain and chronic pain conditions.
